Harmonic Glass
By taking reference to the existing local fabric, we have chosen to adopt a pattern on the projecting curved element of the office building which, in its simplest terms, is a mathematical outworking of musical progressions.

The pattern is derived from the Fibonacci sequence which is evidenced in art, nature and architecture in addition to music with examples ranging from musical scales to the geometry used for the creation of instruments and the placement of keys on a piano.

Each number in the sequence is the sum of the two previous ones:
0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13...... Each horizontal band of glass has been taken and ‘stamped’ with the pattern. Each individual pane is divided into 3, and a stripe is located (using an enamelfrit on the glass) onto one of the thirds, as the pattern dictates.
